Call for vendors: Annex Flea

Call to Vendors!
May 9, 2014 - No Comments - Events

Hello vendors!

The Annex Flea is back for the first of our summer markets, and we want you to be there! This market, on Sunday, June 8th, will be especially exciting, as we’ll be running it in conjunction with the Annex Fest, one of the first of the city’s summer street fairs. If you haven’t been, they shut down Bloor from Bathurst to Spadina, and have businesses with booths and such. They have few to no vintage/handmade vendors however, and we will be around the corner in the Honest Ed’s parking lot. You may know this space as where Fringe Festival sets up their tent in July. We will be collaborating with the Annex Fest with our collective marketing, so our reach will be that much farther.

The details: 10’x12’ spaces are going for $90. There are half booths (5’x10’) for $50. Please note that we will not be providing tables or chairs, and it will be outdoors, so you may want to bring canopies/umbrellas. The Flea’s (and the Fest’s) hours will be 11am-6pm, so set up will start at 9:30am or so.

This is our official call for vendors. Post it online, if you’d like, or forward it to your vendor friends. We always like to meet new people. If you’re interested, send us an email to

info@annexflea.com

including:
- your name
- your business name
- a contact phone number
- your website and/or relevant social media sites
- what size booth you want
- a photo or two of your wares

Please be sure to include all of these, so we can contact you easily. If you’re an Annex Flea veteran, perhaps new photos. The deadline for applications is Friday, May 23rd 2014, but don’t delay! It’s going to be a good one. We hope to speak to you all soon!

INSPIRE! Book Fair

INSPIRE is an inclusive and poly-cultural event which celebrates mass public enjoyment of print and digital books and reading in all forms, and embraces all facets of the writing and publishing industries. The inaugural Fair takes place at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre in downtown Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Timed to kick off the holiday shopping season, the inaugural Fair opens with an immense celebration on the show floor on Thursday November 13, 2014 and continues November 14 -16. See: www.torontobookfair.ca

An aspect of the Fair floor we are working to develop is an area called the INSPIRE! Hub. The Hub is a 2,000+ square ft.,multi-disciplinary area that will bring together a variety of influencers, and early adopters, who are on the frontier of the publishing world.

The Hub is an exciting destination for visitors interested in true indie innovators. Created as an affordable, beautiful, and fully built-out area. This is a place for Zines, micro-publishers, emerging illustrators and publishing artisans exhibit and sell their work, where fair-goers can interact with and learn about the multitude of alternative publishing mediums, and emerging talent in the publishing world.

At the centre of The Hub will be the Soapbox, an intimate presentation space (with seating for small groups). This presentation area will provide a platform for participating exhibitors to showcase their disciplines, and for publishers and authors to present to, speak and interact with Fair goers.

Space in The Hub is moving quickly. We are thrilled to have a number of fantastic self-published authors, small presses, and illustrators who will call this place home. INSPIRE! is also collaborating with a number of studios interested in showcasing the work of their members and a number of colleges interested in taking out swathes of space in The Hub to showcase their students Fourth Year work.

Below are links to a general floor plan (The Hub can be found in the southeast corner of the map), and a Hub specific floor plan.

If you are interested in learning more about the INSPIRE! Hub, discussing pricing, or booking a space please email me at jesse@torontobookfair.ca or call at 416.566.4502.
