Call for Participants
In their ongoing commitment to better understand the changing needs and concerns of the maker community, One of a Kind will be hosting a maker focus group this summer. They are looking to speak to young, emergent entrepreneurs who are working on growing their small, handmade businesses.
In this focus group, they are interested in learning more about:
-
The needs of the maker community and the resources artisans need to establish/grow their business today
-
The strategies young makers are using to build a brand, to establish a following, and to convert sales
-
How a show like One of a Kind can be more responsive to the shifting needs and demands of makers, artisans and designers
They are looking for 8 to 10 participants who are:
-
Makers, artisans and designers who are heavily involved in the creation and production of your art/craft
-
Creating and producing your art/craft in Canada
-
Residing in the GTA or surrounding areas (if selected for this focus group, you must be able to attend the meeting in person)
-
Currently selling your work online, at small local shows or boutiques but have never applied to or participated at the One of a Kind Shows or One of a Kind Online Shop
-
Between the ages of 21-35
Upon completion of the focus group, each participant will receive a $100 honourarium.
