To celebrate the new lunar year, PROOF Gallery in the Distillery is hosting their annual international printmaking exhibit, for horse-themed prints made using traditional printmaking methods, from all over the world (including minouette's linocut, shown). Come for the Chinese New Year Opening celebration or check out the exhibit throughout February.

If you're looking for an art-filled celebration, join minouette for the Year of the Snake Printmaking Opening at PROOF Gallery in the Distillery, Sunday, 2 to 5 pm. There will be Year of the Snake themed prints, made using traditional printmaking methods, from all over the world (including her linocut, shown above).

Requirements for Submission of Prints inspired by the Year of the Snake:

Dimensions: paper size 10" x 12" maximum (image can be any size that fits on 10” x 12” paper, 3-5 prints)

Printmaking Media: Any traditional printmaking technique or combination including relief, etching, lithography, silkscreen, wood block, mixed print methods, letterpress, monoprints - please no straight digital prints.

Gung hee fatt choi! Congratulations and be prosperous! It's the Chinese New Year, and today we lanch the Year of The Dragon.

This weekend you can catch many local and international printmakers' entries on this theme (including minouette) at the PROOF Gallery in the Distillery District.

The exhibit will premier at PROOF, January 26 - February 12, 2012, with the Opening 2-5 PM, Saturday January 28!
