The Toronto Etsy Street Team (TEST) is teaming up with Camp Tech to bring their famed on-line Etsy Seller Newbie Bootcamp to real life! Ever considered selling your handmade goods, vintage finds or artist supplies on-line? Do you want to open your own Etsy shop?

As you probably know, Etsy is a huge, and ever-growing international marketplace for handmade goods, vintage items (over 20 years of age) and art and craft supplies. It is a way for artists, craftspeople and vintage sellers to reach a enormous audience and it is one of the simplest and easiest ways to start a small business and sell on-line. Etsy sellers include everyone from crafty people with full-time jobs in other fields, who need a creative outlet (and don't want their homes to be overflowing with their handmade items) to professional artists looking for another venue to sell their art. Listing your items on Etsy is an easy, affordable way of trying to earn some income from your creative endeavours and could into a very rewarding and possibly lucrative business.

Join us April 23rd at 7:00 pm at Artscape Youngplace (180 Shaw St) for a free Etsy Newbie Bootcamp workshop!

Bring your laptop, some photos of your wares if you can, as well as your thoughts and questions, and we'll lead you step-by-step through the process of launching your on-line Etsy shop. You'll be a small Etsy business owner by the end of the evening. Find an instant network of like-minded sellers by joining TEST. If you've newly opened your shop, join us and we can help you get it looking its best.

Want tips on how to promote your shop? Edit your photos? Use social media to grow your business? TEST is excited to be partnering with Camp Tech, the downtown Toronto tech skills training hub, who will be on-hand to share their expertise on things like blogging, SEO, social media, Google Analytics, editing photos and more.

Vendor Call: The 40th annual Festival of Friends

Wednesday, April 1, 2015

The 40th annual Festival of Friends, a three day celebration of the best in music, crafts, food and more. Annually it draws over 250,000 visitors and is recognized by the province as one of Southern Ontario’s largest free Music Festivals. The main stage has been taken by noted artists such as City & Colour, The Sheepdogs, Don McLean, Great Big Sea, Lights, Leon Redbone and the Mickey Hart Band and many more. We have also introduced many newcomers and local bands to the greater Hamilton region through our two additional music stages. The Festival takes place August 7, 8 & 9 at the Ancaster Fairgrounds. Since this is a big milestone year for us there will be extra celebrations and a few surprises!

There is a wonderful sense of community at our event as participation from our artisans, vendors, community groups, local businesses and volunteers are what hold the foundations of our organization. We stand firmly on the strength of our programming and our ability to present the best headliners and talent free to all visitors, making ours the most anticipated and well attended festival. Please visit our website for more information to be posted soon about this year’s event and headlining performers atwww.festivaloffriends.ca.

The Festival of Friends is an exciting opportunity for you to sell your products, grow your business and network with clients and other vendors. If you would like an application sent to you or have specific inquiries, please respond with some details about your work or products to sell - photos are always great.
